Air-flow Jet Dryer
Batch AirFlow Jet Drying System
Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer is an industrial food drying system designed for drying food powders, plant-based proteins, soy pulp (okara), food granules, and grains. Using a high-speed hot air circulation system and AirFlow Jet drying technology, the dryer creates a continuous airflow that keeps materials suspended and evenly agitated throughout the drying process. This increases the contact area between the product and heated air, accelerates moisture removal, improves drying efficiency, and helps maintain consistent product quality. The system is ideal for food processing plants, plant protein manufacturing, and food by-product recycling applications.
Why Choose an AirFlow Jet Dryer? Common Drying Challenges in Food Processing Include:
✔ High moisture content that shortens product shelf life
✔ Long drying times with conventional hot air drying equipment
✔ Uneven drying that leads to inconsistent product quality
✔ Agglomeration and clumping of granular, lumpy, or powdered materials
✔ Low production efficiency caused by manual material turning
How the Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer Works
The Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer mainly consists of a hot air circulation system, drying chamber, material conveying system, cyclone separation system, and powder filtration system. The equipment uses circulating hot air to move the material inside the drying chamber and carry out heat exchange. The conveying and filtration systems then complete material transfer, fine powder recovery, and air treatment. The actual drying temperature, circulating air volume, batch time, and filtration configuration should be adjusted according to the raw material’s moisture content, particle size, specific gravity, viscosity, and target moisture content.
Hot Air Circulation System
The Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer uses a blower to create a stable airflow and deliver heated air into the drying chamber. After entering the drying area, the hot air comes into full contact with the material, causing the moisture in the raw material to evaporate. Under the action of the airflow, the material does not remain in a fixed position but continuously tumbles, disperses, and circulates inside the drying chamber. Compared with static drying, this method increases the contact area between the material and the hot air, helping to reduce insufficient local heating and uneven drying.
The hot air circulation system uses a blower, heating unit, and drying chamber to establish a stable airflow, allowing the material to continuously tumble and come into contact with the hot air inside the drying area. After the moisture evaporates, it is carried away by the airflow. Depending on the system design, part of the heat can be recirculated to improve drying uniformity and energy efficiency.

Conveying System and Filtration System
How does the material enter and leave the AirFlow Jet Dryer?
The material conveying system is responsible for feeding the raw material into the drying chamber and transferring the dried product to subsequent collection, cooling, or packaging processes. For food powders, granules, and high-moisture materials, stable feeding helps prevent excessive material from entering at once and allows the drying system to maintain a more consistent material load.
The downstream filtration system captures fine powder carried by the airflow, helping recover the product, reduce dust emissions, and keep the airflow piping and working environment clean.
The material is steadily fed into the Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer through the front-end conveying system and transferred to subsequent collection or processing stages after drying. Particles and fine powder carried by the drying airflow are recovered through the cyclone separation and powder filtration systems to reduce product loss, minimize dust emissions, and maintain stable system airflow.

How Does the Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer Work?
The Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer operates through six key stages:
1. Raw materials are accurately fed into the drying chamber through the front-end conveying system.
2. Heated air is delivered into the drying zone by the blower.
3. The material is continuously suspended and agitated by the high-speed circulating airflow while coming into contact with the hot air.
4. Moisture evaporates from the material and is carried out of the drying chamber by the airflow.
5. The cyclone separator and filtration system recover particles and fine powder from the exhaust airflow.
6. The dried product is discharged and transferred to downstream cooling, screening, or packaging processes.
By integrating the hot air circulation system, material conveying system, and powder filtration system, the Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer delivers stable drying performance, improved drying uniformity, and efficient fine powder recovery for food processing applications.
Q1: What products can be dried with a Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer?
The Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer is suitable for drying soy pulp (okara), plant-based proteins, food powders, grains, seasoning powders, bread crumbs, granules, and other food ingredients. Drying parameters such as temperature, airflow, and processing time can be adjusted to match the characteristics of different materials.
Q2: What are the advantages of an AirFlow Jet Dryer compared to conventional hot air drying?
The AirFlow Jet Dryer uses a high-speed hot air circulation system to improve heat transfer efficiency, reduce drying time, and provide more uniform drying. This helps minimize material agglomeration, improve product consistency, and achieve more stable drying performance.
Q3: Can the Batch AirFlow Jet Dryer be customized?
Yes. Tsunghsing(TSHS) provides customized AirFlow Jet Drying Systems based on your product characteristics, including moisture content, particle size, production capacity, target moisture level, and factory layout. Complete process planning and system integration are also available.
Q4: How does the AirFlow Jet Dryer reduce product loss caused by fine powder?
The system combines a cyclone separator with a powder filtration system to recover fine particles carried by the airflow. This design helps reduce product loss, minimize dust emissions, improve the working environment, and increase overall product recovery efficiency.
